Ph.D. Defense Lucas Plabst

Dr. Lucas Plabst successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis, a cotutelle between the University of Würzburg and Colorado State University. The title of his dissertation is ‘Investigating Notification Presentation and Interaction in Augmented Reality’. He was co-advised by Francisco Ortega, Director of NUILab at Colorado State University, and Florian Niebling, head of the Visual Computing Group at TH Köln. He passed with highest honors, earning the grade summa cum laude for his Ph.D. thesis and the highest grade during his oral presentations.
Lucas has been an invaluable member of our team in the DFG project Beyond Safety. I cannot thank Lucas enough for his work over the past years. It has always been a pleasure working together, and I hope this will only be the beginning of a most successful career as a researcher and team leader. Congratulations to Lucas, and many thanks to everyone involved at the chair for Human-Computer Interaction at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg and at Colorado State University.
