The title of his dissertation is ‘Investigating Notification Presentation and Interaction in Augmented Reality’. Lucas has been working in the DFG project ‘Beyond Safety’.

We investigated user preferences, usability, workload, and performance during a virtual cooking task, where participants managed customer orders while interacting with notifications.

We investigated notifications in Augmented Reality across three conditions: visual notifications in fixed positions, visual notifications above objects, and no visual notifications with monaural sounds.

The work is based on Thore’s Master Thesis. We present a tracking system implemented using the HoloLens IR sensor made available through the Research Mode API

We researched effectiveness and user preferences of different interaction modalities for notifications in AR, along with two types of notification display methods.
